The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. WCS's goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. We currently manage about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries.

WCS has been working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 1999, providing technical advice and support for the conservation of key habitats and species across the country.

The WCS Cambodia program is growing rapidly! We are expanding our family and are looking for applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions. Detailed job descriptions of the position is attached.

  • Duty Station: Phnom Penh, Cambodia 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum of master’s degree or equivalent experience in a discipline related to natural resources management, Sustainable development, or international/ rural development studies.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in natural resources management, sustainable development, and/or other environmental assistance or related work in developing countries. Experience working as country/executive director for similar organization is an advantage.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with government agencies or government relations, and knowledge of international conservation policy issues (including environmental treaties).
  • Proven ability to build capacity and direct initiatives in community-driven natural resource management, field research, conservation biology, conservation advocacy, and project management.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain an extensive network of high-level contacts with government officials, multi-lateral and bilateral technical and financial partners; demonstrate tact and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of multiple multidisciplinary teams and ability to effectively communicate and provide guidance to WCS teams and partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and diplomatic skills, and the ability to effectively negotiate ad achieve balanced solutions to complex development problems.
  • Fluency in English and Khmer (read, write and speak) for the precise and accurate communication, reporting on, preparation and review of protected areas and natural resources management documents.
