The Trapeang Pring headquarters of the Preah Vihear Protected Forest (PVPF) was inaugurated in a ceremony on the 20th January 2010. The ceremony was attended by more than a hundred local villagers and officials, and included speeches by His Excellency Sor Thavy, Deputy Provincial Governor of Preah Vihear Province, HE Ung Samart, Deputy Director of the Forestry Administration, and Mark Gately, Director of the WCS Cambodia Program.
The station headquarters is a two-storey concrete structure, situated about one hour's drive from Chhep town, and will facilitate improved communication with the many sub-stations that are situated across the PVPF. It will therefore enable Project Managers to improve law enforcement effectiveness within the protected area. The station will be permanently manned throughout the year.
The Trapeang Pring station headquarters was constructed with funds from the UNDP/GEF-funded CALM project.
