About Us

Since 1895, the Wildlife Conservation Society has built the world's most extensive field conservation program to protect nature’s most vital strongholds and nearly half of global biodiversity. WCS Cambodia, active since 1999, focuses on preserving key landscapes like the Eastern Plains, Northern Plains, and Tonle Sap that are home to species such as the Asian Elephant, Bengal Florican, and Siamese Crocodile.

The program’s strength lies in its integration of science, policy, and partnerships with Indigenous Peoples and local communities. In Cambodia, WCS protects carbon-rich forests to buffer climate change, addresses zoonotic disease risks linked to habitat loss, combats illegal wildlife trade that threatens global biodiversity, and much more. Each initiative operates at the intersection of conservation and development to ensure effective and enduring strategies.
